Get Back Up!

The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked
Proverbs 24:16

Concentrating on what is important
We lose our way,
We get back up again
Never too late to get back up again,
One day, you gonna shine again,
You may be knocked down but not out forever,
Lose our way, we get back up again,
So get up, get up
You gonna shine again
It’s never too late, to get back up again
You may be knocked down, but not out forever (lyrics to “Get Back Up” by Toby Mac).

The truth is the Scripture talks not so much about falling into sin but rather falling into affliction, pain and the like. It says that “the godly will get up again,” meaning that you will be able to overcome the problem you’ll be going through., no matter how hard it is.

It never lasts
The second thing you need to know is that:

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal  2 Corinthians 4:14-16 (Emphasis added).

Too many times people think that their struggles will go on for a very long time or that it will take them a long time to solve them. First of all that kind of thinking pattern should not be entertained. One should be able to see past their situation and towards the hope of looking at a brighter future, whether it is big or small. Besides, in God’s eyes your pain is just a “light affliction” and it is “for a moment.” Our prayer, therefore should be to see things as He sees them.

The counter-intuitive action
The third thing is:

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.  For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.  So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing, James 1:2-4

The struggle you’re going through is a test. Life is filled with lots of tests. They test every part our lives. The test is not like a challenge where you become weak and unable to do most things you would normally be able to do, like being physically or mentally challenged. Rather it is an actual test of both our faith to endure and will to succeed.  We should rejoice in those trying times because they give us an opportunity to grow, mature and become stronger.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.  And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.  And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love, Romans 5:3-5

The beauty about being patient is that you begin to see the options in front of you. If you don’t give yourself the chance to figure out ways of getting out of your problem, then you only go deeper into because all of your attention is centered on the problem rather than the solution! Rejoice for the fact that you will solve the problem and get rid of the pain so that your mind actually focuses on that.

You can handle it
The last thing you need to know is:

Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.  No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it, 1 Corinthians 10:12-14 (Emphasis added).

Some times in difficult times we can be tempted to do regretful things. The only fortunate thing about that is they come as last resort. The vital element to note here is that no matter how small or big your troubling situation is, you will be able to overcome it!

No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the LORD, Isaiah 54:17

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37

I like what he saying, seem like something take a total on us and we give up and dont get back up. Your message is letting us know, that we can get back, more like we should get back up. Every day going to be struggle, but we got to keep moving and to continue to get back up. God Bless
