Understanding Wisdom

Proverbs 4:7

Wisdom is the principal thing;
Therefore get wisdom.
And in all your getting, get understanding

Proverbs 2:6

For the Lord gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding

James 1:5

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him

James 3:17

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

Proverbs 1:7

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
But fools despise wisdom and instruction

Proverbs 9:10

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding

Psalm 111:10

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
A good understanding have all those who do His commandments.
His praise endures forever

Proverbs 2:4-5

If you seek [Wisdom] as for silver and search for skillful and godly Wisdom as for hidden treasures,

Then you will understand the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of [our omniscient] God. (AMP)

Applying Wisdom
Wisdom is the ability to recognize the difference. The difference in people. Difference in environment. Difference in your situation. When Blind Bart cried out to Jesus, he was told to shut up but he cried out all the more. He recognized the difference in the opportunity (Mark 10:46-49).

It is the ability to feel difference. To know difference. Difference between right and wrong (Proverbs 14:15). To recognize who should be honoured. The difference between poverty and prosperity is who you honour. The difference between success and failure is who you have chosen to honour.

Very often there is one reason for you failing, for you falling. Few live what they are taught. We only live what we believe.

Whose voice are you listening to? Whose voice do you choose to follow?

These are notes I took from Dr Mike Murdock’s service tonight which I saw online. I am also an online member of The Wisdom Center (TWC). I will draw as much wisdom as I can from the well of success which he has gained from various types of numerous of his experiences. As he helps us desire to receive instruction for growth and correction for change from the Word, then I believe we can become the men and women God designed us to be!
