I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus Philippians 3:14
Nowhere else to go but forward
1) Just keep running. At this point in our lives we have so much to be thankful for. Despite what this year has brought us, we are still here today. Yes we’ve suffered great losses in some areas of our lives but the lessons we have picked up from them have brought us to this point. Taking advantage of failures and looking forward to success is the only thing that’s left right now.
2) Let go of all baggages. The only hindrance in our journey is holding on to the pressures and problems of the past. Like a heavy trailer attached to a vehicle, carrying them with us only slows us down and holds us back. The remedy? No matter how painful it may be, the only pleasure that will come from it, and allow us to enjoy a smooth ride, is letting go.
3) Right the wrongs that matter. Are you ashamed of some of the things you did this year? Did you hate embarrassing yourself in front of friends, family, coworkers, the boss, spouse and the one you’re attracted to? More importantly, did you hurt them? If so, now is the best time to set the record straight. There is still time. You can still start the next year, ready and free to pursue your dreams.
4) Be inspired to continue and advance your journey with the King. They say to save the best for last. Though this point is the last it’s not the least. You need not beat yourself down if you struggled to read your Bible, pray and/or worship much this year. All that will be left, at this point, is to determine to discipline yourself (me included) to plan the right strategy, make the right sacrifices, and prioritize every second possible for spiritual strength from the King. As we exit this year may we proceed to move on to the next one by entering His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, that we may come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Psalm 100:4 and Hebrews 4:16.
Shalom to you all.
