Being aware

For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD,
And He ponders all his paths Proverbs 5:21

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.  For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory Colossians 3:2-4

Recognizing what is around us
In this year I have seen that it is so easy to get caught up in the hype of life that we forget the small yet significant things. At the same time to realize that life is long because of the years ahead, is something we cannot take for granted. In short we should be grateful for every little thing that happens to us because it is a reminder of how much we are appreciated if it’s a good thing and how we can be thankful that worse things didn’t happen to us if it’s a bad thing. I wrote a verse to song I am completing with friends of mine. It’s called, “Be Aware part 2:”

There are some things I’ve been thinking about
And it concerns life’s ups and downs
What if someone told you life is short?
It’s ship sails on but you’re left at the port
It doesn’t stop, just keeps moving
Right at your spot, what are you doing?
Are you going to act like you just don’t care?
In fact, better yet, are you even aware
Of the very place you’ve been stationed?
By the decisions you’ve been making
What is your map, do you even know it?
Those that you’re with, it explains it, shows it
The very direction, area you’re going
Whether or not you’re the one in control and
Only thing I know, in any situation
I’m using the Word as my navigation

That is all I really want to leave as food for thought. Even though you are not where you want to be, at least you are not where you used to be. That is something worth being aware of! I love what Pastor Phil Dooley of Hillsong Cape Town says: Time to move on from constantly depending on others for your security to being the one who confidently lifts others in His

Be aware of who you are? Be aware of those around you. Are there certain parts of your life you to tend to overlook without noticing?
